The RF Ranging Base Evaluation Kit (RFRB Eval Kit) demonstrates Greina Technologies’ new RF Ranging system providing industry leading high absolute ranging accuracy (as low as a few centimeters) as well as new device tracking capabilities with millimeter resolution. Unlike chirp FM ranging methods, the RFRB ranging technology uses small bandwidth and rides on standard IEEE 802.15.4 messages in the 2.4 GHz ISM band.
Different from any other RF ranging and localization system, the RFRB measures not only the absolute distances to a device within a few centimeters, it allows to track them at a millimeter resolution at an update rate of more than 70 Hz. This opens up a whole new area where one can apply RF localization, like terrestrial and aerial robotics, where rapid and high-precision tracking is a necessity for control.
The RFRB Eval Kit comes in three different sizes, containing two (small), three (medium), or four (large) devices. They can be used to evaluate 1D (small), 2D (medium), or even 3D (large) localization scenarios.

We just posted a video on Youtube showing off a 2D localization application using our RF Ranging Base.
Our latest product, the RF Ranging Base (RFRB) is now available for pre-order. The RFRB allows you to measure the distance to a few centimeters in direct line of sight environments, and a few tens of centimeters in non-line of sight setups. The RFRB is also the worlds first RF ranging system that allows millimeter-resolution tracking of a node. Thus, the RFRB can not just tell how far a second node is away, it can even tell if the node moved a few millimeters away or closer.
We currently offer the RFRB in two packages, a set of two nodes (RFRB0413-KIT-2) that allows ranging and tracking between the two nodes, and a larger kit of 4 nodes (RFRB0413-KIT-4) allowing to range between the 4 nodes and thus setup a full 3D ranging system.
