I have been constantly asked two questions related to the new hardware:
- Is our system Ultra Wide Band based?
- Can you post a demo of the system in action?
To quickly answer both of these questions:
- No, our system operates on the 801.15.4 2.4Ghz ISM Band.
- This demo show a RFRAnchor finding the position of a RFRBadge.
A detailed description of each device and more complicated demos will be released in January 2017.
We are happy to announce the third generation of our ranging system will be available January 2017. This release will include new hardware and a website update with a number of new demo videos showing off the features of our system.
The hardware release will consist of three different types of hardware: the RFRAnchor, RFRBadge, and RFRButton. Each type serves a specific purpose for limitless situations. Our system provides indoor ranging solutions for both commercial and consumer applications.

We just posted a new Backyard Demo Video of the RF Ranging Base’s high-resolution, sub-cm tracking capability. We compare our measurements to a laser range finder to show just how accurate we are. Note that the update rate is limited by the laser range finder we use. the RFRB can currently track at over 70 Hz, and will in the near future achieve a 1 kHz update rate.
